Today’s submission is a really neat painting by KatnipArt from Etsy. She contacted me about doing a sumi-e style ink painting, and initially I was imagining simply the logo reproduced in ink.
Instead, she chose to work with a much more loose interpretation, painting a rounded full moon and a realistic spider-style chrysanthemum at the base. I think it’s fascinating to see how people are starting to get creative and exert artistic liberties with the design.
I had to creatively acquisition a frame for this from other art in the house, so eventually I will have to cave in and buy a proper frame, but I do like how it looks floating in the glass.
