Wallpaper challenge!

I’m at work today, so unfortunately I am not able to photograph and catalogue a new addition to the project. Yesterday I was unable to take any pictures due to spending the day in the emergency room (cardiac dysfunction, I hate you so!). Thankfully I had the entry prepared ahead of time, but that left me at a loss for content today, but after a little brainstorming, I’ve come up with an awesome idea that my readers (I see the stats, I know some people are reading even if they are not commenting) can help me out with, something that won’t cost anyone a penny in supplies or materials.

I’ve had the awesome vinyl decal on my laptop for a few days now, and I’ve had a large version of the moonblossom as my desktop wallpaper since then. I’m a dork, and I love to tweak and customize things. However, the wallpaper’s getting a bit dull. I typically rotate my wallpapers regularly, but I only have one with this design on it. But that’s where you come in!

I’d love for anyone who enjoys making graphics, fiddling around with Photoshop, Gimp, Painter, whatever, to take this high-resolution copy of the image and make your own amazing wallpaper for me. Each submission will be posted here in the blog with a link to your art site, deviantart, whatever you choose. You’re more than welcome to post the wallpaper you make in your own gallery, so long as there’s a link back to this blog included.

Things to keep in mind. My laptop’s screen resolution is 1280 x 800 so this would be a good size to work with. I like my wallpapers to be somewhat relaxing on the eyes – since I usually have multiple windows open all over the place, there is usually some of the desktop showing when I work. Last but not least, have fun! Go crazy. Use any colours, any royalty-free or stock imagery, brushes, etc. You can edit the design, you can move it around, resize it. Whatever you think looks nice goes!

When you’re done, you can either email me (diane@moonblossom.net), or simply post here in the comments. :)
